 Earthlink Email Settings

Earthlink is a free webmail service that allows you to set up your email account on macOS and Windows computers. The Earthlink email settings include POP/IMAP and SMTP protocols. Using these protocols, you can configure your email account on desktop or mobile phone email clients apps. Below are the Earthlink email server settings.

POP:

  1. Incoming mail server: pop.earthlink.net
  2. Incoming server port: 995
  3. Security type: SSL
  4. Username: Your Earthlink email address
  5. Password: Your Earthlink email account password

IMAP:

  1. Incoming mail server: imap.earthlink.net
  2. Incoming server port: 993
  3. Security type: SSL
  4. Username: Your Earthlink email address
  5. Password: Your Earthlink email account password

SMTP:

  1. Outgoing mail server: smtpauth.earthlink.net
  2. Outgoing server port: 587
  3. Security type: STARTTLS
  4. Username: Your Earthlink email address
  5. Password: Your Earthlink email account password

Steps to configure the Earthlink email settings manually in Mailbird:

  1. On your computer, launch Mailbird by double-clicking its shortcut icon on the desktop.
  2. Click the Menu icon at the top-left corner.
  3. Select Options from the drop-down list.
  4. Choose Accounts from the left-side panel.
  5. Click the Add button and enter your email account details in the available fields.
  6. On the Settings found screen, click on Edit server settings.
  7. Under Incoming server, choose either POP or IMAP as your account type from the Server type drop-down menu.
  8. In the Server name field, enter the incoming mail server name.
  9. Input the incoming server port number in the Port box.
  10. Choose your security type from the Encryption drop-down menu.
  11. Enter your email address and password in the Username and Password fields.
  12. Under Outgoing server, enter the outgoing mail server name in the SMTP server field.
  13. Input the outgoing server port number in the Port box.
  14. Choose STARTTLS from the Encryption drop-down menu and select the Requires authentication checkbox.
  15. Input your account details in the Username and Password fields.
  16. Click Continue and wait until your Earthlink email is added to the Mailbird app.

Steps to configure the Earthlink email settings in Outlook 2016:

  1. Launch Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Next, click the File tab and select the Info option.
  3. Click on Add Account below Account Information.
  4. On the Auto Account Setup screen, select the Manual setup or additional server types option and click Next.
  5. On the Choose Service screen, select the POP or IMAP option.
  6. Next, you should enter the account details in the following sections.
  7. User Information
  8. Server Information
  9. Logon Information
  10. Under User Information, give a name for your account in the Your Name field.
  11. Enter your Earthlink email address in the Email Address field.
  12. Under Server Information, select either POP or IMAP as your account type from the drop-down menu.
  13. Input the incoming and outgoing mail server names in the available fields.
  14. In the Logon Information section, enter your email account details.
  15. Click on More Settings to open the Internet Email Settings window.
  16. In the Outgoing Server tab, select the checkbox at the top and then the option to use the same settings as your incoming mail server.
  17. In the Advanced tab, select the security type and enter server port details.
  18. Click OK and verify the configured Earthlink email settings by clicking the Test Account Settings button.
  19. Finally, click OK –> Finish.
