COX webmail settings

You can access the COX webmail account from your web browser using its email address and password. Also, you can access it from an email client, such as Windows Live Mail, Mac Mail, and Outlook. To do so, you have to set up the COX webmail account in the email client using the incoming (IMAP/POP) and outgoing (SMTP) server details.

Below are the IMAP/POP and SMTP details of the COX webmail account.

Incoming Mail Server details

  • Account Type – IMAP or POP
  • Incoming Server Name – (IMAP) or (POP)
  • Incoming Port – 993 (IMAP) or 995 (POP)
  • Security – SSL/TLS
  • Authentication – Required

Outgoing Mail Server details

  • Outgoing Server Name –
  • Outgoing Port – 465
  • Security -SSL/TLS
  • Authentication – Required

Basic account information

  • Username – Your COX email address
  • Password – Your COX password

Windows Live Mail

  1. Launch Windows Live Mail on your computer.
  2. Select the Add an account option.
  3. Note: If you are using the Windows Live Mail client for the first time, select the Add account option.
  4. Select the Advanced Setup option followed by the Internet Email option.
  5. When the ‘Add an Account’ window opens, fill the Email Address, User Name, Password, Account Name, Your Name, Incoming Email Server, Account Type, and Outgoing Email Server fields with valid details.
  6. The following options have to be selected.
    • Outgoing server requires authentication
    • Use the same user name and password for sending email
    • Require SSL for incoming email
    • Require SSL for outgoing email
  7. Click Sign in -> Done.

Mac Mail

  1. Click the Apple logo, choose the System Preferences option, and choose the Add Other Account option.
  2. Click the Mail Account option.
  3. Provide your name and the COX webmail account’s email address and password in the relevant fields.
  4. Click ‘Sign in’ in the ‘Add a Mail account’ dialog box.
  5. Now, you can access the COX webmail account in Mac Mail.


  1. Launch Outlook, click the File tab, and select the Add Account option.
  2. Click Manual setup or additional server types -> Next -> POP or IMAP -> Next.
  3. When the ‘POP and IMAP Account Settings’ dialog window opens, provide the correct information in the relevant fields.
  4. Click More Settings, navigate to Outgoing Server, and enable both the ‘My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication’ and ‘Use the same settings as my incoming mail server’ options.
  5. Go to Advanced, provide the correct port details, and click OK.
  6. Once done, click Next -> Close -> Finish.
