Cox Webmail Settings

Using the Cox Webmail email service provider, you can manage both incoming and outgoing email messages. Therefore, whenever you set up Cox Webmail on your desktop email client, it forwards all your email messages to the configured email account.

Here, in this article, we’ll be discussing how to configure Cox Webmail on your Outlook account.

Setting up Cox Webmail on your Outlook account:

The Cox webmail server settings are required for the configuration process. Refer to the server settings given below while configuring.

IMAP server settings:

Account type – IMAP

Incoming:

  1. Incoming server name – imap.cox.net
  2. Port number – 993
  3. Security – SSL or TLS

Outgoing:

  1. Outgoing server name – smtp.cox.net
  2. Port number – 465
  3. Security – SSL or TLS

POP server settings:

Account type – POP

Incoming:

  1. Incoming server name – pop.cox.net
  2. Port number – 995
  3. Security – SSL or TLS

Outgoing:

  1. Outgoing server name – smtp.cox.net
  2. Port number – 587
  3. Security – SSL or TLS

Let us now use these server settings to configure Cox on Outlook account. Here, we’ll be using IMAP settings to finish the configuration process.

Configuring Cox Webmail on Outlook account using IMAP server settings:

  1. On your Windows computer, launch Outlook.
  2. On the Outlook application, click the File tab at the top-left.
  3. Click the plus symbol. It directs you to the Add account window.
  4. From there, click the Manual setup or additional server types radio button and click Next.
  5. Choose the service option and then click Next.

In the POP or IMAP Account Settings window, you need to enter the server settings details for your Outlook account. If you do not know the server settings, check this page to get the Cox webmail server settings.

  1. Under the User Information section, enter your name and email address.
  2. Choose your account type as IMAP under the Server Information section.
  3. Enter imap.cox.net in the Incoming mail server field. Type smtp.cox.net in the Outgoing mail server field.
  4. Now, enter your Coxmail email address as a username under the Logon Information section.
  5. Type a strong password and then enable the Remember password checkbox.
  6. Now, click the More Settings tab at the bottom of the window. The Internet E-mail Settings window opens.
  7. From there, select the Outgoing Server tab.
  8. Enable the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox. Next, click the Use same settings as my incoming mail server radio button and click OK.
  9. Go to the Advanced tab. Type 993 as the incoming server and choose SSL from the encrypted connection drop-down menu.
  10. Go to the Outgoing server field and type 465 as the server port number. Cross-check the details that you’ve entered. Click OK.
  11. Click the Test Account Settings.. tab. Outlook will now start the testing process. If you’ve enabled the Automatically test account settings when Next is clicked option, click Next. Your Outlook account starts to examine the details that you’ve entered.
  12. Finally, click Finish.

You’re all set now. You can also configure your Cox Webmail account through your mobile device.

BASIC COX WEBMAIL SETTINGS

The Basic Cox Webmail settings include changing the time zone, theme, language, or editing your Cox Webmail profile. You can change them according to your choice.

  1. At first, sign in to your Cox Webmail account. Using your web browser, navigate to the Cox webmail sign-in page.
  2. On the Sign In page, enter the User ID and password.
  3. Enable the Remember User ID checkbox.
  4. Choose Classic Webmail or Enhanced Webmail and then click Sign In.
  5. Navigate to Settings by clicking the gear icon at the top-right corner.
  6. From there, select the Basic settings option. Here, you can customize the required settings, such as language, enabling automatic sign-in or sign-out, changing the display, or making a change in receiving the notification.

For example, if you want to choose when to receive your emails, you can manage it by selecting the Refresh Interval option. If you wish to make your visited page as the default whenever you log in to your Cox Webmail account, customize the Default app after sign-in option.
