Post Office Protocol (POP3) is an incoming mail server that takes care of incoming emails. POP allows you to save the email on the email client itself. That is, the emails will be stored in your email client until you delete them manually. Here are the POP3 server settings for the Cox email account.

Cox Business Email SMTP Settings

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) works as an outgoing mail server and takes care of all your outgoing emails. It sends the emails from the email client to the host. Here are the SMTP server settings for the Cox email account.

  1. Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.cox.net
  2. Outgoing Mail Server Port: 465/587
  3. Encryption: SSL/TLS

  2. On your computer, launch your email client and log in to your Cox business email account.
  3. Next, click on the Settings button and enter the credentials for the incoming and outgoing mail servers.
  4. Choose the Account Type as POP3 and make sure that you have entered pop.cox.net in the Incoming Mail Server field. Also, set the Incoming Mail Server port to 995.
  5. Now, enter smtp.cox.net in the Outgoing Mail Server field and set the Outgoing Mail Server port to 465.
  6. In the User Name field, type the user name of your Cox email account, and for the authentication, enter the password of your Cox email account address.
  7. For both incoming and outgoing servers, choose the encryption as SSL/TLS.
