 Comcast Mail Settings For Outlook 2007

Configuring the Comcast mail account to Outlook 2007 is simple. Once you have done the configuration correctly, you will start receiving the emails on Outlook 2007. You can add any email account to Outlook, and it is very easy. Let’s see how to configure the Comcast mail settings for Outlook 2007.

Configuring Comcast mail to Outlook 2007:

  1. Launch the Outlook 2007 email client on the Windows computer.
  2. Click the Tools menu on top of the screen and then select Account Settings…
  3. On the next screen, click Email, and then select New.
  4. Click Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP in the Choose E-mail Service window and click Next.
  5. In the next window, select the check box for Manually configure server settings or additional server types and then click Next.
  6. Next, select Internet E-mail and click Next.
  7. Below the User Information section, type your name in the Your Name text box.
  8. Now, enter your Comcast Email address in the Email Address text field.
  9. Below the Server Information section, select IMAP in the Account Type drop-down box.
  10. Enter the Incoming mail server as ‘imap.comcast.net‘ and the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) as ‘smtp.comcast.net
  11. Below the Logon Information section, enter your Comcast user name in the User Name text field and your Comcast password in the Password text field.
  12. Select the check box for Remember Password; when you do so, you don’t need to enter your Comcast password every time.

Additional settings on the Outlook app:

  1. On the Add Account screen, click More Settings.
  2. Now, click the Outgoing Server tab and select the check box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  3. Next, select the radio button for Use same settings as my incoming mail server and then click OK.
  4. Click the Advanced tab and type ‘993‘ in the Incoming server (IMAP) text box. Next, select SSL from the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop-down box.
  5. Now, type ‘587‘ in the Outgoing server (SMTP) and then select TLS from the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop-down box.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Next, and the Comcast email server will send a test email; once you receive the test email, click Finish.
  8. Now, close the Outlook app and restart the computer.
  9. Launch the Outlook app and wait for few minutes; the Comcast mail will automatically load in the inbox.
