Incoming server settings

  1. Account type: IMAP
  2. Server address: imap.comcast.net
  3. Port number: 993
  4. Security type: SSL/TLS
  5. Credentials: Comcast email account’s address and password

Outgoing server settings

  1. Account type: SMTP
  2. Server address: smtp.comcast.net
  3. Port number: 587
  4. Security type: STARTTLS
  5. Credentials: Comcast email account’s address and password

Now, set up the Comcast email account on Outlook 2003 by following the instructions given here.

  1. On your computer, launch the Outlook 2003 application.
  2. Click on the Tools tab.
  3. Select the Email Accounts option from the drop-down list.
  4. Now, a dialog box titled Email Accounts will appear on the screen.
  5. Next, in the opened dialog box, select the Add a new email account option under the Email section and click on the Next button.
  6. Choose your incoming server type (IMAP) by clicking the radio button beside it and click Next.
  7. Now, in the Email Accounts section, type your Comcast email account’s User Information, Logon Information, and Server Information in the given fields.
  8. To configure the advanced settings, click on the More Settings button.
  9. Under the Outgoing Server tab, enable the first two options.
  10. Go to the Advanced tab of Internet Email Settings and type the incoming and outgoing server port numbers & security types correctly in the given fields.
  11. Click OK -> Next -> Finish.
