Incoming Mail settings (IMAP)

  1. IMAP server: imap.comcast.net
  2. IMAP Port: 993
  3. IMAP Security: SSL/TLS
  4. IMAP Username: Comcast email address
  5. IMAP Password: Comcast email password

Outgoing Mail settings (SMTP)

  1. SMTP server: smtp.comcast.net
  2. SMTP port: 587
  3. SMTP Security: STARTTLS
  4. SMTP Username: Comcast email address
  5. SMTP Password: Comcast email password

Since you have seen the e-mail settings for Comcast, you can go ahead and configure the mentioned settings in Outlook 2016.

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook on your computer.
  2. Click the File tab.
  3. Locate and click the Account Settings button.
  4. Select Account Settings.
  5. Click the option that reads New.
  6. In the Add Account dialog box, click the radio button for the E-mail Account option.
  7. Click Next.
  8. At the bottom of the next dialog box, click the radio button for the Manual setup or additional server types option.
  9. Click the Next button.

Under the User Information section,

  • Enter the user name in the Your Name field.
  • Type the e-mail address in the E-mail address field.

Under Server Information,

  1. Click the Account Type list and select IMAP.
  2. In the Incoming mail server field, type imap.comcast.net.
  3. In the Outgoing mail server field, type smtp.comcast.net.

Under the Logon Information section,

  1. Enter a username and your Comcast e-mail password in the corresponding fields.
  2. Click the checkbox for the Remember Password option.
  3. On the right side of the same dialog box, click the More Settings button.
  4. Click the Outgoing Server tab.
  5. Click the checkbox for the option My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  6. Select the radio button for Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click the Advanced tab to fill in the port information.
  9. Incoming server (IMAP): 993
  10. Outgoing server (SMTP): 587
  11. Click the OK button.
  12. Your Outlook application will run the account configuration with the configured Comcast e-mail settings.
  13. Click the Close button once the configuration is complete.
  14. Click Finish.
