CENTURYLINK EMAIL SETTINGS

CenturyLink is a free web-based email service that provides IMAP access to your email account. So, you can easily access it from the desktop email clients and mobile phones after configuring the CenturyLink email settings. CENTURYLINK EMAIL POP3 SETTINGS (INCOMING MAIL SERVER)

In general, POP3 stands for Post Office Protocol version 3. It is the recent version of a standard protocol for receiving emails to your inbox. The POP3 protocol is designed to delete the mail on the server as soon as the user has downloaded it. Below are the POP3 settings for the CenturyLink email.

  1. Incoming mail server name: pop.centurylink.net
  2. Server port number: 995
  3. Security type: SSL
  4. User name: full email address
  5. Password: email account password

CENTURYLINK EMAIL SMTP SETTINGS (OUTGOING MAIL SERVER)

SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. This outgoing mail server protocol is designed to send emails to the mail server. You need to configure the outgoing mail server settings for your CenturyLink account to send emails from the email client. Below are the outgoing mail server settings for CenturyLink.

  1. Outgoing mail server name: smtp.centurylink.net
  2. Server port number 587
  3. Security type: TLS

CENTURYLINK.NET EMAIL SETTINGS FOR IPHONE

Steps to configure the CenturyLink email settings on iPhone:

  1. On your iPhone, touch the Settings icon on the home screen to open the Settings app.
  2. Tap the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars tab in the Settings window.

  9. Below Outgoing Mail Server, enter ‘smtp.centurylink.net’ as the outgoing mail server name.
  10. Tap Save and complete the account setup by following the on-screen prompts.
  11. Close the Settings app and then open the Mail app.
  12. Check if your CenturyLink email is available in the Mail app.

CENTURYLINK.NET EMAIL SETTINGS FOR ANDROID

Steps to configure the CenturyLink email settings on Android:

  1. On your Android phone, open the Email app from the home screen.

  3. Select the option to add a new account to the Email app.
  4. Tap the Other button from the list of email service providers.
  5. Input your CenturyLink email address and password in the required fields and tap the Manual setup button.

  8. Input your account details and configure the incoming and outgoing server settings.
  9. Enter the server port numbers for both incoming and outgoing servers.

  11. Wait for the device to connect to the servers.
  12. Once the authentication is complete, you will be directed to the Accounts screen.

CENTURYLINK EMAIL IMAP SETTINGS

IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. This incoming mail server protocol is designed to receive emails from the mail server. Unlike POP3, IMAP downloads a copy of the incoming email from the mail server and saves it to your computer. The IMAP protocol is more advanced and allows you to see all the folders on the mail server. Below are the incoming mail server (IMAP) settings for CenturyLink.

  1. Incoming mail server name: imap.centurylink.net
  2. Server port number: 993
  3. Security type: SSL
  4. User name: full email address
  5. Password: email account password

CENTURYLINK.NET EMAIL SERVER SETTINGS FOR OUTLOOK

Steps to configure CenturyLink email server settings in the Outlook app:

  1. Start by launching Microsoft Outlook 2016.
  2. In the Outlook main window, click the File tab and select the Info option from the left-side panel.
  3. Click the Add Account button below Account Information.

  5. On the Auto Account Setup screen, select the Manual setup or additional server types option and click Next.

  7. Choose the POP or IMAP option as your service and click Next.

  9. On the POP and IMAP Account Settings screen, input your account details in the User Information, Server Information, and Logon Information sections.
  10. Under the User Information section, give a name for your email account in the Your Name field and enter your CenturyLink email address in the Email Address field.
  11. Under Server Information, choose IMAP as your account type from the drop-down menu.
  12. Enter ‘imap.centurylink.net’ in the Incoming mail server field.
  13. Input ‘smtp.centurylink.net’ in the Outgoing mail server field.
  14. Below Logon Information, enter your CenturyLink email address in the User Name field and enter your account password in the Password field.
  15. Click More Settings and head to the Outgoing Server tab.

  17. Select the checkbox My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and then enable the radio button Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

  19. Jump to the Advanced tab without clicking the OK button.
  20. Enter the incoming and outgoing server port numbers in the required fields.
  21. Remember to choose the correct security type from both the drop-down menus.
  22. Click OK and select Test Account Settings to verify the configured CenturyLink email settings.
