Now, let’s see how to use the BigPond outgoing mail settings to configure the email account in Outlook 2016.

  1. Open the Outlook 2016 application on your computer.
  2. Select Info -> Account Settings -> Account Settings -> Manual Setup -> POP or IMAP.
  3. Now, a window titled Internet Email Settings will open.
  4. Type your BigPond email account settings in the corresponding fields as discussed below:

  7. Email Address: Your BigPond email account’s address
  8. Server Information
  9. Account Type: POP3
  10. Incoming mail server: mail.bigpond.com
  11. Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.bigpond.com

  14. Password: Your account’s password
  15. If necessary, select the Remember Password option.
  16. Now, click on the More Settings button.
  17. Go to the Outgoing Server tab of the Internet Email Settings dialog box.
  18. Enable the first two options and click on the Advanced tab in the same dialog box.
  19. Type your account’s port number and security type in the given fields.
  20. Click Apply -> OK -> Next -> Finish.
