How To Configure The Bigpond Live Mail Settings?

To begin with, you’ll need to know the server settings for Bigpond live mail settings.

Bigpond Live Mail Settings

Incoming mail server:

  1. Account type – IMAP
  2. Server – imap.telstra.com
  3. Security – SSL/TLS
  4. Port number – 993
  5. Username – Your full email address
  6. Password – Account password

Outgoing mail server:

  1. Server – smtp.telstra.com
  2. Security – SSL/TLS
  3. Port number – 465
  4. Username – E-mail address
  5. Password – Account password

Apply these server details while configuring the Bigpond in your mail client.

Setting up Bigpond in your mail client (Windows Mail)

  1. Initially, you’ll have to launch the default email application on your Windows computer.
  2. Continue to select the Settings menu and then Manage Accounts.
  3. Select the Add account option.
  4. Next, select the Other account (POP, IMAP) option.
  5. Start entering the email address and password to sign in to your account. It’s time to enter the server settings in the required fields. To do that, return back to the Manage Accounts section. Navigate to the Change mailbox sync settings option.

Here, in this section, update all the sync options. Later, return to the Account settings screen and select Advanced mailbox settings. You’ll have to update all the server settings detail now.

Enable the below-given checkboxes:

  1. Outgoing server requires authentication
  2. Use the same username and password for sending mail
  3. Requires SSL for incoming email
  4. Requires SSL for outgoing email
  5. Cross-check the settings that you’ve made. Finally, click Done.

After successfully configure Bigpond live mail settings. Now, you’ll be able to send Bigpond email messages from the built-in Mail app on your Windows computer.
