ATT E-MAIL SETTINGS FOR OUTLOOK

When you add your ATT account to the Outlook email client, you should also configure the outgoing and incoming server settings. Continue to read the following sections to know how to configure ATT E-Mail Settings for Outlook.

ATT E-Mail Settings for Outlook
  • Open the Outlook 2010 application on your computer. 
  • Click on the File tab, which you can locate at the top-left corner.
  • Then, click on the Account Settings option from the drop-down menu and select New.
  • In the Add account window, choose the Manually configure server settings or additional server types option and click on the Next button. Then, on the Choose Service screen, select the Internet E-mail option and click on the Next button.
  • On the Internet E-mail Settings screen, enter the required information in the appropriate sections. In the User Information section, enter your full name and the AT&T e-mail address in the respective fields. 
  • In the Server information section, select your account type from the drop-down menu. You can choose either IMAP or POP. For IMAP account types, enter imap.mail.att.net in the Incoming mail server field and smtp.mail.att.net in the Outgoing server field. For the POP3 accounts, enter the Incoming mail server as inbound.att.net and the Outgoing mail server as outbound.att.net (POP3).
  • Then, move to the Logon Information section, enter your full e-mail address as the username and enter your ATT account password in the password field. Then, select the checkboxes for the Remember Password and Require logon using Secure Password Authentication options.
  • Then click on the More settings button, and it will show you to the Internet e-mail settings window. In the Internet E-mail Settings window, go to the Outgoing Server tab and check the boxes next to the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming mail server options. Then, go to the Advanced info tab and enter the required information. If you have chosen IMAP account type, enter the Incoming Mail Server as 993, Outgoing mail server as 465 and enable the SSL encryption for outgoing and incoming mail servers. If you have chosen the POP3 type of account, enter the incoming mail server as 995, outgoing mail server as 465, and enable the SSL encryption type for both servers.
  • Once you have entered all these information, click on the OK button. Then, the Add New Account window will be displayed; click on the Next button.

ATT E-Mail Settings for Outlook 2013

  1. Launch Outlook 2013 on your computer. Click on the File tab, choose the Info option from the left panel, and then click the Account Settings option.
  2. In the Account settings window, click on the E-mail tab and click on the New button. In the Add Account window, choose the Manual Setup/Additional server types option and click Next. Then, select the server type as POP or IMAP and click on the Next button.
  3. On the account setup page, enter the required information in the appropriate fields. 
  4. In the User Information section, enter your name and the ATT e-mail address in the respective fields. In the Server Information section, select your account type from the drop-down menu. You can choose either IMAP or POP. For IMAP account types, enter imap.mail.att.net in the incoming mail server field and smtp.mail.att.net in the Outgoing server field. For the POP3 accounts, enter the incoming mail server as inbound.att.net and the Outgoing mail server as outbound.att.net (POP3).
  5. Then, move to the Logon information section. Enter your full ATT e-mail address in the User Name field and type your ATT account password in the Password field.

ATT Email Settings For Outlook 2016

  1. On your computer, launch the Outlook 2016 application and click on the File option. Choose Add Account from the drop-down menu and select the POP or IMAP option. 
  2. In the User Information section, enter the user name and AT&T e-mail address in the respective fields.
  3. Then, go to the Server Information section and enter the required information in the appropriate fields. Select the account type as IMAP or POP3 from the drop-down menu.
  4. If you have selected IMAP, enter the Incoming mail server as imap.mail.att.net and the outgoing mail server as smtp.mail.att.net. If you have chosen the account type as POP3, enter the incoming mail server as inbound.att.net and the outgoing mail server as outbound.att.net.
  5. Then, move to the Logon Information section and enter the required information. Enter the user name as your complete e-mail address and the password as your secure mail key. Then, select the checkboxes for Remember Password and Require logon using Security Password Authentication options.
  6. Click on the More Settings option. Select the checkbox next to the My outgoing server requires authentication and Use the same settings as my incoming mail server options.
  7. Go to the Advance info tab and enter the appropriate server settings. If you have selected the account type as IMAP, enter 993 as the incoming server and if you have chosen the account type as POP3, enter the incoming server as 995. 
  8. For both IMAP and POP3 account types, enter the outgoing server as 465 and choose the encryption type as SSL.
